Fibroblast Growth Factor 18, Recombinant, Human (FGF18)

The FGFs play key roles in controlling tissue growth, morphogenesis and repair in animals. FGF-18 is a newly discovered heparin binding growth factor that stimulates the proliferation and activation of cells that express FGF receptors. Recombinant Human FGF-18 is a 21.2kD protein containing 182aa. \n\nBiological Activity:\nThe ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by BaF3 cells expressing FGF-receptors is (same/less than) 0.5ng/ml, corresponding to a speci?c activity of \n(same/more than) 2x10e6 units/mg. \n\nStorage and Stability:\nLyophilized powder may be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 5mM Tris and store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
