Human Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor is a mitogen that stimulates cell growth for such cells as fibroblasts, endothelial cells, myoblasts, glial cells and smooth muscle cells. Basic FGF is composed of 146aa residues (pro 1 to ser 146), and is 55% homologous with acidic FGF, including two conserved cysteine residues.\n\nSource:\nyeast\n\nBiological Activity: \nThe mitogenic activity of human basic FGF is identical to natural bovine basic FGF, as measured by stimulation of 3H-thymidine incorporation into human foreskin fibroblast cells.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nLyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute to with sterile dH2O, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
