Floating head (Flh) is a zebrafish homeobox gene critical to notochord development, and is one of the earliest genes to be expressed in notochord precursors. Studies have shown that Flh is critical to epiphysial neurogenesis, glomerular differentiation, axial vascular development and other key elements of zebrafish growth. Zebrafish Flh mutants develop without a notochord, but still develop with mesodermal derivatives such as the prechordal plate. In Flh mutants, Flh RNA is expressed at lower levels, suggesting a mechanism of positive self-regulation. Flh is a homologue of the homeobox gene Xnot in amphibians. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:5000-1:20,000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Control Peptide: F4149-74P Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
