This gene product is a member of the serine-arginine (SR) family of proteins, which is involved in constitutive and regulated RNA splicing. Members of this family are characterized by N-terminal RNP1 and RNP2 motifs, which are required for binding to RNA, and multiple C-terminal SR/RS repeats, which are important in mediating association with other cellular proteins. This protein can influence splice site selection of adenovirus E1A pre-mRNA. It interacts with the oncoprotein TLS, and abrogates the influence of TLS on E1A pre-mRNA splicing. This gene has multiple pseudogenes. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. In addition, transcript variants utilizing alternative polyA sites exist.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA, Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nImmunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1.5ug/ml\nELISA: 1ug/ml-3ng/ml\nWestern Blot: 1:500-1:1000\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nHybridoma: \nSp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
