Galactokinase is a major enzyme for the metabolism of galactose and its deficiency causes congenital cataracts during infancy and presenile cataracts in the adult population. GALK1 sequence shares the greatest level of conservation, 44.5% identity with that from E. coli and 34.6% aa identity with the product of the human GALK2 gene.
Source:
Recombinant protein corresponding to GALK1, fused to His-tag at N-terminal expressed in E.coli.
Molecular Weight:
~45.1kD
Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
