HESCA-1 (Human Embryonic Stem Cell Antigen-1)

The evolution of our understanding of pluripotent and adult stem cell biology requires specific research tools to permit the characterization, isolation, and expansion of stem cells. HESCA-1 is the first in a series of novel stem cell antibodies produced to provide scientists with those needed tools. HESCA-1 recognizes a newly discovered 200kD cell surface protein that has been shown to be expressed in pluripotent human embryonic stem cell (hESC) populations.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Immunocytochemistry, Immunohistochemistry and Flow cytometry. Other applications have not been tested. \n\nRecommended Dilutions: \nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. \n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Recognizes H1, BG-01, BG01v, and BF02 human embryonic stem (hES) cell lines. Unreactive for differentiated stem cells in teratomas and common feeder lines such as MEF, D-551, and Hs27. Reactivity with other hES lines has not yet determined.
