CBX3 seems to be involved in transcriptional silencing in heterochromatin-like complexes. It recognizes and binds histone H3 tails methylated at 'Lys-9', leading to epigenetic repression. It may contribute to the association of the heterochromatin with the inner nuclear membrane through its interaction with lamin B receptor (LBR). In addition, it is involved in the formation of functional kinetochore through interaction with MIS12 complex proteins.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Peptide ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. \n\nRecommended Dilutions: \nPeptide ELISA: Detection limit dilution 1:32,000 \nWestern Blot: 0.3-1.0 ug/ml. ~20kD band observed in lysates of A431, HeLa, HepG2, NIH3T3 and NSO. (calculated MW of 20.8kD according to NP_009207.2 and NP_057671.2). \nImmunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 2-3ug/ml shows strong nuclear staining in trophoblasts\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
