HLA-Drb1 (HLA-DRB1)

Cat no: H6100-55A

HLA-Drb1 (HLA-DRB1)

HLA-Drb1 belongs to the HLA class II beta chain paralogs. The class II molecule is a heterodimer consisting of an alpha (DRA) and a beta chain (DRB), both anchored in the membrane. It plays a central role in the immune system by presenting peptides derived from extracellular proteins. Class II molecules are expressed in antigen presenting cells (APC: B lymphocytes, dendritic cells, macrophages). The beta chain is approximately 26-28kD. Within the DR molecule the beta chain contains all the polymorphisms specifying the peptide binding specificities. Hundreds of HLA-Drb1 variations have been described, and typing for these polymorphisms is routinely done for bone marrow and kidney transplantation. HLA-Drb1 is expressed at a level five times higher than its paralogs DRB3, DRB4 and DRB5. HLA-Drb1 is present in all individuals. Variants of HLA-Drb1 are linked with either none or one of the proteins for DRB3, DRB4 and DRB5.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. \n\nRecommended Dilutions: \nWestern Blot: 1:1000-1:10,000 \nImmunohistochemistry: 1:100-1:250 \nImmunocytochemistry: 1:100-1:250\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. \n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. \n\nManufactured incorporating RabMAb(R) technology under Epitomics US patents, No 5,675,063 and 7,429,487, owned by Abcam.
