Integrin alpha5, beta1 (VLA5, Fibronectin Receptor, Very Late Antigen, CD49)

Specificity of the antibody was verified by its ability to immunoprecipitate a5b1 heterodimers from 125-I-surface labeled cells, reciprocal depletion of VLA-5 antigen from cell lysate with antiserum against the cytoplasmic domain of a5 integrin subunit, and immunoprecipitation of VLA-5 integrin from cells known to express this integrin. Cell lines tested to express a5b1, include: P19 cells, mouse melanoma B16F1 cells, mouse squamous carcoma SCC cells and thymocytes. Characterization by immunoprecipitation was typically analyzed by SDS-PAGE using 6% gels under non-reducing conditions. \n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in the Inhibition of cell adhesion to fibronectin, Immunoprecipitation, Flow Cytometry and Western Blot. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
