Interleukin 15 (IL-15)

IL-15 is a member of the four helix-bundle cytokine family with a molecular weight of 14-15 kD. Its in vitro activity is very similar to that of IL2, except that IL-15 utilizes the IL-15 receptor alpha subunit for binding. IL15 play an important role in the growth and differentiation of T and B lymphocytes, natural killer cells, macrophages, and monocytes. It also activates a number of importatnat intracellular signaling molecules. This implies that IL-15 could be essential for the immune responses, allograft rejection, and the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Neutralization. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions:\nDirect ELISA: (same/more than)0.5ug/ml using 100ul/well antibody solution. Allows the detection of 0.2-0.4ng/well.\nWestern Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml. Allows the detection of 1.5-3ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.\nNeutralization: 0.12-0.15ug/ml yields one-half maximal inhibition (ND50) of the biological activity of 2ng/ml human IL-15.\nOptimum dilutions to be determined by researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nLyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O or PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
