Interleukin-6 (IL6) is a cytokine that functions in inflammation and the maturation of B cells. The protein is primarily produced at sites of acute and chronic inflammation, where it is secreted into the serum and induces a transcriptional inflammatory response through interleukin 6 receptor, alpha. The functioning of this IL6 is implicated in a wide variety of inflammation-associated disease states, including susceptibility to diabetes mellitus and systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nELISA: To detect Human IL-6 by sandwich ELISA (using 100ul/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.25-1ug/ml of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with Polyclonal Anti-Human IL-6 as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4ng/well of recombinant Human IL-6.\nELISA (Direct): To detect Human IL-6 by direct ELISA (using 100ul/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.25-1ug/ml of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4ng/well of recombinant Human IL-6.\nWestern Blot: To detect Human IL-6 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1-0.2ug/ml. When used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for recombinant Human IL-6 is 1.5-3ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nLyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
