LAIR-1 (Leukocyte-associated Ig-like Receptor-1)

Human leukocyte-associated Ig-like receptor-1 (LAIR-1) is a 40kD cell surface molecule that functions as an inhibitory receptor on natural killer cells, monocytes and T cells. LAIR-1 is also expressed by other hematopoeitic cells including B cells, but is not expressed by non-hematopoietic, platelets or erythrocytes. Reported to inhibit NK cell triggering via CD16 molecules (1).\n\nFusion Partners: \nSpleen cells from immunized mice were fused with cells of the P3U1 myeloma cell line. \n\nApplications: \nFlow Cytometry 1:50-1:100\nImmunoprecipitation\nWestern Blotting: Detects a band of approximately 40kD (1). \nFlow Cytometry: Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 10 e6cells in 100ul. \n\nRecommended Secondary Reagents: \nF(ab')2 Rabbit anti mouse IgG: FITC \nF(ab')2 Rabbit anti mouse IgG: RPE\n\nRecommended Negative Controls: \nMouse IgG1 Negative Control\n\nStorage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
