Lewis B (Blood Group Lewis b, Lewis B Blood Group Antigen)

Blood group related antigens represent a group of carbohydrate determinants carried on both glycolipids and glycoproteins. They are usually mucin-type, and are detected on erythrocytes, certain epithelial cells, and in secretions of certain individuals. Sixteen genetically and biosynthetically distinct but inter-related specificities belong to this group of antigens, including A, B, H, Lewis A, Lewis B, Lewis X, Lewis Y, and precursor type 1 chain antigens. Increased expression of Lewis B has been reported in gastric and pancreatic tumors, as well as in colorectal cancer.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Immunocytochemistry, Immunohistochemistry and ELISA. Other applications not tested. \n\nRecommended Dilutions:\nImmunocytochemistry: Strongly positive on ethanol fixed epithelial cells. \nImmunohistochemistry: Frozen ethanol fixed section, ethanol or formalin fixed paraffin sections.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
