LRP, MVP (Lung-resistance Related Protein, Major Vault Protein) (BSA & Azide Free)

Major vault protein (MVP) is identical to lung resistance related protein (LRP). Its shape is reminiscent of the nucleopore central plug. Treatment of cells with estradiol increases the amount of MVP in nuclear extract. The hormone-dependent interaction of vaults with ER is prevented in vitro by sodium molybdate. Antibodies to progesterone and glucocortoid receptors are also able to co-immunoprecipitate the MVP. Reportedly, the lung resistance related protein (LRP) is identical to human MVP. LRP is overexpressed in many neoplasitc tissues and cells lines indicating a poor response to chemotherapy.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Gel Supershift Assay, Flow Cytometry, Immunoprecipitation, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nImmunoprecipitation (Native verified): 2ug/mg protein lysate. Use Protein G.\nWestern Blot: 1-2ug/ml for 2 hrs at RT.\nImmunohistochemistry (Formalin/paraffin): 1:50-1:100 for 20 min at RT. Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control:\nSKBR3 cells and breast tumors\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
