Myostatin (GDF-8) is expressed uniquely in human skeletal muscle as a 12kD mature glycoprotein consisting of 109 amino acid residues and secreted into plasma. Myostatin is a member of the transforming growth factor beta superfamily of secreted growth and differentiation factors that is essential for proper regulation of skeletal muscle mass. Studies have shown that myostatin could play an important role in cardiac development and physiology.\n\nHuman Myostatin is created as a recombinant protein with N-terminal fusion of HisTag with added 43 amino acid sequence as a spacer. Supplied as a lyophilized powder from 0.05M acetate buffer, pH 4.5. Reconstitution: Reconstitute with 0.2ml of sterile 0.1M acetate buffer, pH 4. Allow the lyophilized pellet to dissolve completely. For conversion into higher pH value, intensive dilution by relevant buffer to 10ug/ml is recommended. In higher concentrations the solubility of this antigen is limited.

Purity
