Nav1.8, Control Peptide (PN3) (KLH)

Synthetic peptide to rat Nav1.8 (PN3) CDPNLPNSNGSRGNC-KLH\n\nPN3, also known as Nav 1.8, is a tetrodotoxin-resistant voltage-gated sodium channel expressed predominantly in small sensory neurons. It was originally cloned from a rat dorsal root ganglion (cDNA) library. This channel has been proposed to contribute significantly to the sensitization of primary sensory neurons after injury. Successful and specific antisense-mediated knockdown of PN3 protein in the dorsal root ganglion prevents hyperalgesia and allodynia caused by either chronic nerve or tissue injury. The limited distribution to sensory neurons and evidence that this channel contributes to inflammatory and neuropathic pain position PN3 as an actively pursued drug target for the treatment of chronic pain.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot.\n\nControl antigen for Rabbit anti-Nav1.8 (PN3) N0530-22

100% homology with rat and mouse PN3 and 87% homologous with the human sequence; also has 100% homology with mouse voltage-gated sodium channel type V alpha found in Heart. Previously raised antibody to this sequence did not crossreact with other sodium channel isoforms such as brain types I-III, PN1/SCN9A, PN4/SCN8A/NaCh6, which are found abundantly in the brain, or the cardiac channel/SCN5A.
