Nop5p, Nop6p (Nop58p, Nop56p)

Nop5p, a novel nucleolar protein, is essential for growth in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Nop5p functions with Nop1p in the execution of early pre-rRNA processing steps that lead to formation of 18S rRNA. Nop5p, associated with Fibrillarin and this Nop5p/Fibrillarin complex in turn binds to a specific snoRNA referred to as Box C/D. Nop5p displays no methytransferase activity, but does associate with the Box CD snoRNA and allows Nop5p/Fibrillarin to form as a hererotetramer consisting of two heterodimers. \n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Immunofluorescence. Other applications not tested. \n\nRecommended Dilution:\nImmunofluorescence on yeast cells: 1:500-1:5000\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
