Pancortin (Noelin, AMY, Noe1, Olfm1, Olfactomedin1)

Pancortin, a member of a diverse family of secreted glycoproteins, is implicated in the development of the nervous system, and the glaucoma-associated protein myocilin (1). Studies suggest that Pancortin-2 interact with WAVE1 in a novel cell death cascade in adult, but not embryonic, cerebral cortical neurons. Specifically pancortin-2 is a mediator of ischemia-induced apoptosis of neurons in the adult cerebral cortex, and functions in a novel mitrochondrial/actin associated protein complex that sequesters Bcl-xL (2). It is also involved in the generation of neural crest cells, and in neurogenesis (3-4).\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nImmunofluorescence: 1-10ug/ml\nWestern Blot: 1ug/ml \nImmunohistochemistry: 0.1-1ug/ml\nImmunocytochemistry: 0.1-1ug/ml\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
