Podocalyxin (Podocalyxin-like protein-1, PC, PCLP, PCLP1, PODXL, MGC138240, GCTM-2 Antigen Gp200)

Podocalyxin is a CD34 family member expressed by podocytes, vascular endothelium, mesothelium, and a subset of hematopoietic progenitors. It is the major sialoprotein in the glycocalyx of glomerular podocytes. The physiologic role of podocalyxin in leukemic blasts is unknown. However, it is thought of as a candidate prostate cancer tumor aggressiveness gene. Podocalyxin appears to complement CD34 as a useful cell surface marker for hemangioblasts, the common precursors of hematopoietic and endothelial cells.\n\nCellular Localization: Membrane\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
