Rabbit Anti-Human TDGF1 polyclonal antibody for IHC-P. The cripto gene is expressed both in embryonic stem cells and during the early phases of embryo development, while in adults it is reactivated in a wide range of epithelial cancers. The expression of Cripto-1 may represent a useful marker to identify cancer stem cells in melanoma, and possibly other aggressive tumors as well. It has been suggested that caveolin-1, a membrane protein that acts as a tumor suppressor in the mammary gland is down-regulated during the process of Cripto- 1 mediated mammary tumorigenesis.
