Raf, phosphorylated (Ser43) (Raf-1, c-Raf)

The Raf family of serine/threonine-specific kinases is comprised of three members (A-Raf, B-Raf and c-Raf) that play a critical role in regulating cell growth and differentiation and couple growth factor receptor stimulation to nuclear transcription factors via the Ras/mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway. c-Raf kinase (also known as Raf-1) is a key 74kD signal transducer of multiple extracellular stimuli that is regulated by several pathways and that once activated phosphorylates MEK which in turn phosphorylates ERK. Serine 43 of c-Raf is phosphorylated by PKA and is thought to negatively affect the ability of Ras to activate c-Raf.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 0.1-1ug/ml\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control: \nImmunoprecipitates of EGF-stimulated Hek293 cells, transfected with c-Raf.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
