RGS4 (Regulator of G Protein Signaling 4, Regulator of G Protein Signalling 4, RGS-4, MGC2124, MGC60244, RGP4, SCZD9)

Regulator of G protein signaling (RGS) family members are regulatory molecules that act as GTPase activating proteins (GAPs) for G alpha subunits of heterotrimeric G proteins. RGS proteins are able to deactivate G protein subunits of the Gi alpha, Go alpha and Gq alpha subtypes. They drive G proteins into their inactive GDP bound forms. Regulator of G protein signaling 4 belongs to this family. All RGS proteins share a conserved 120 amino acid sequence termed the RGS domain. Regulator of G protein signaling 4 protein is 37% identical to RGS1 and 97% identical to rat RGS4. This protein negatively regulates signaling upstream or at the level of the heterotrimeric G protein and is localized in the cytoplasm.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nImmunocytochemistry: 1:200\nImmunohistochemistry: 1:200\nWestern Blot: 1:2000. Predicted molecular weight: 35kD.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nCellular Localization: Cytoplasmic\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
