RSK 1 (p90-RSK 1) is a member of a family of 90kD ribosomal protein S6 kinases, which includes RSK 1, RSK 2 and RSK 3. These are broadly expressed serine/threonine protein kinases (1) activated in response to mitogenic stimuli, including extracellular signal-regulated protein kinases Erk1 and Erk2 (2). p90-RSK 1 is activated by MAPK in vitro and in vivo via phosphorylation (3). Active RSKs appear to play a major role in transcriptional regulation by translocating to the nucleus and phosphorylating c-Fos and CREB (2,4).\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Western Blotting, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nFlow Cytometry: 1:50\nWestern Blotting: 1:1000 (83kD)\nImmunohistochemistry: 1:100\nImmunoprecipitation: 1:10 1ug/mg of total cell protein (~10e7 cells)\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
