Selenoprotein M, Suberites domuncula (SelM, Sepn, 1500040L08Rik, A230103K18)

Selenium may be implicated to cancer prevention, immune system function, male fertility, cardiovascular disorder, control of the aging and neurodiseases process. Selenoproteins are thought to be responsible for the majority of these biomedical effects of selenium. Approximately 17 selenoproteins have been identified until now. Although the function of many selenoproteins are unknown, some play important roles in anti-oxidant mechanisms. It has been also implicated in the regulation of signaling pathways through catalysis of thiol/disulfide exchange. Selenoprotein M(SelM) is especially expressed in a mammalian brain and is localized to the perinuclear structures(Golgi/ER).\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in ELISA, Western Blotting, Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nELISA: 1:10,000-1:15,000\nWestern Blotting: 1:2000. Extracts from sodium selenite-treated primmorphs were separated by size and transferred to membranes.\nImmunohistochemistry: 1:200\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nLyophilized powder may be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol and store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
