Salt-inducible kinase 1 (SIK1), also known as SNF1LK or MSK, plays a role in histone modification and G2/M cell cycle regulation. It is a 783aa protein that contains one UBA domain and belongs to the Ser/Thr protein kinase family (AMPK subfamily). Localized to both the nucleus and the cytoplasm, SIK1 is a class II HDAC kinase that uses magnesium as a cofactor to catalyze the ATP-dependent phosphorylation of target proteins and is thought to be important for the early stages of skeletal muscle growth and myocardial cell differentiation.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1ug/ml\nImmunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 5ug/ml\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control:\nHuman Small Intestine Tissue Lysate\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
