This gene encodes a member of the Snail family of C2H2-type zinc finger transcription factors. The encoded protein acts as a transcriptional repressor that binds to E-box motifs and is also likely to repress E-cadherin transcription in breast carcinoma. This protein is involved in epithelial-mesenchymal transitions and has antiapoptotic activity. Mutations in this gene may be associated with sporadic cases of neural tube defects. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:1000 Western Blot: 1:100-1:500 Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 10ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
