STAT1 at serine 727 is one of a growing number of STATs which regulate gene transcription in response to numerous growth factors and cytokines, including the type I interferons IFN- alpha (IFNA) and IFN-beta (IFNB), regulators of anti-viral and anti-tumor responses. Research into cardiac failure, has revealed a STAT1 phospho-Ser727 dependent pathway invoking the death of cardiac myocytes through the induction of the Fas (CD95)/Fas Ligand (CD95L) system, a known key regulator of apoptosis. The relationship between STAT1 and IFN has become the focus of many malignancy studies including its influence on the cooperation between IFN and all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) on both MCF-7 breast tumor cells and acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) blasts (4).\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Immunoprecipitation and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
