STYX, also known as serine/threonine/tyrosine-interacting protein, belongs to the protein-tyrosine phosphatase family. It contains a Gly residue instead of a conserved Cys residue in the dsPTPase catalytic loop which renders it catalytically inactive as a phosphatase. The binding pocket is however sufficiently preserved to bind phosphorylated substrates, and maybe protect them from phosphatases. It seems to play a role in spermiogenesis.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
