Survivin (Alexa Fluor(R) 488)

Survivin is a 16kD anti-apoptotic protein highly expressed during fetal development and cancer cell malignancy. By binding and inhibiting caspase-3, survivin controls the checkpoint in the G2/M-phase of the cell cycle by inhibiting apoptosis and promoting cell division. This regulatory process requires the phosphorylation of survivin at Thr34 by p34 cdc2 kinase. Gene targeting using a Thr34 phosphorylation-defective survivin mutant, as well as antisense survivin, has been shown to inhibit tumor growth. \n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Immunocytochemistry and Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nImmunofluorescence (IF-IC): 1:10. Add 10ul to 5x10e5 cells in 90ul PBS/0,5% BSA.\nFlow Cytometry: 1:10\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nStore at 4 degrees C. Do Not Freeze. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Fluorochrome conjugates are sensitive to light.
