Survivin is a structurally unique inhibitor of apoptosis (IAP) that has been linked to protection from apoptosis, control of cell division, and cellular adaptation to stress. In order for survivin to provide this cytoprotection an interaction with at least one other IAP, such as XIAP, is necessary. It has recently been shown that Survivin is phosphorylated at Ser20 by protein kinase A (PKA) in the cytosol but not in the mitochondria. This phosphorylation on Ser20 disrupts the binding of cytosolic survivin to XIAP and therefore diminishes survivin's cytoprotective properties.\n \nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 3ug/ml\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
