Synaptophysin 2 (DKFZp686G0883, MGC26651, Synaptoporin, SPO, SYNPR)

Cat no: S9108-25B

Synaptophysin 2 (DKFZp686G0883, MGC26651, Synaptoporin, SPO, SYNPR)

Synaptophysin 2, also known as Synaptoporin, is a component of the synaptic vesicle membrane and thought to play an important role in synaptic vesicle trafficking (Dai et al., 2003). It is highly homologous to Synaptophysin 1, yet differs in expression. Whereas Synaptophysin 1 is ubiquitiously expressed, Synaptophysin 2 is concentrated in the mossy fiber synapses of the hippocampus (Grabs et al., 1994; Singec et al., 2002).\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1:1000\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control:\nRat hippocampal lysate\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
