Synaptotagmin is widely regarded as the primary calcium sensor for synaptic vesicle exocytosis (Fernandez-Chacon et al., 2001; Wang et al., 2003). Moreover recent studies indicate that the protein also plays a key role in endocytosis (Poskanzer et al., 2003). Synaptotagmin can be phosphorylated by multiple protein kinases and this may play a key role in modulation of synaptotagmin ability to influence both the exocytotic and endocytotic components of synaptic transmission (Hilfiker et al., 1999; Lee et al., 2004).\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Dot Blot and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
