Thyroid hormone receptors (THRs) are 55kD ligand dependent members of the steroid/retinoic acid superfamily of transcription factors. The two genes encoding THRs identified to date, TRa and TRb, have been mapped to human chromosomes 17 and 3, respectively. THRs bind to thyroid hormone response elements (THREs) with half site binding motifs in the orientation of palindromes, direct repeats, or inverted palindromes. The affinities of binding are both variable and influenced differentially by 3,5,3'-triiodo- L-thyronine (T-3).
Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
ELISA: 1:32,000
Western Blot: 0.3-1ug/ml, observed in human bone marrow lysates on 50+60kD bands
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
