The Toll-like receptor (TLR) family in mammal comprises a family of transmembrane proteins characterized by multiple copies of leucine rich repeats in the extracellular domain and IL-1 receptor motif in the cytoplasmic domain. Like its counterparts in Drosophila, TLRs signal through adaptor molecules. The TRL family is a phylogenetically conserved mediator of innate immunity that is essential for microbial recognition. Ten human homologs of TLRs (TLR1-10) have been described. TLR8 gene contains three exons, two of which have coding function. TLR8 cDNA codes for a protein of approximate molecular weight of 120kD. \n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions:\nFlow Cytometry: 0.5-2ug labels 1x10e6 cells. Ramos cells can be used as a positive control.\nWestern Blot: A band of ~120kD was detected with transfected cell lysates.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control: \nWestern Blot: Transfered cell lysate\nFlow Cytometry: Raw or Raw cells\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C before opening. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4 degrees C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Stable for 12 months at 4 degrees C. Freezing R-Phycoerythrin (PE) conjugates will result in a substantial loss of activity. PE conjugates are sensitive to light.
