Tumor necrosis factor (TNF, cachexin or cachectin and formerly known as tumor necrosis factor-alpha) is a cytokine involved in systemic inflammation and is a member of a group of cytokines that stimulate the acute phase reaction. MegaTNF-alpha(TM) is a high activity construct in which two trimeric TNF-alpha ligands are artificially linked via the collagen domain of ACRP30.
Biological Activity:
Activates human and mouse TNF-R1 and TNF-R2.
Sequence:
The extracellular domain of human TNF-alpha (aa 85-233) is fused at the N-terminus to human ACRP30headless (aa 16-108) and a FLAG(R)-tag.
Storage and Stability:
Short-term Storage: +4 degrees C
Long-term Storage: -20 degrees C
Stable for at least 6 months after receipt when stored at -20 degrees C.
