Tubulin is the major building block of microtubules. This intracellular cylindrical filamentous structure is present in almost all eukaryotic cells. Microtubules function as structural and mobile elements in mitosis, intracellular transport, flagellar movement, and in the cytoskeleton. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunocytochemistry: 3% paraformaldehyde-0.5% Triton X-100 and methanol-acetone. Western Blot: 0.5-1ug/ml using whole extract of cultured rat adrenal pheochromocytoma (PC-12) cells. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
