Transient receptor potential vanilloid (TRPV) channels are widely expressed in both sensory and nonsensory cells. TRPV2, a member of transient receptor potential ion channels, responds to high-threshold noxious heat (with a threshold of approximately 52 degrees C), but neither to capsaicin nor to proton. TRPV2 transcripts are not restricted to the sensory nervous system, indicating that this channel may be activated by stimuli other than heat. It has been proposed that responses to noxious heat involve these related, but distinct, ion-channel subtypes that together detect a range of stimulus intensities.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control: Dorsal root ganglion\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 3 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
