VEGFR-1 is a type I membrane protein. This protein binds VEGF, PLGF and VEGFB and belongs to the tyrosine protein kinase family. VEGFR-1 has a signaling role in mediating monocyte chemotaxis in tumor disease and performs an inhibitory role by sequestering VEGF and preventing its interaction with VEGFR-2.
