Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor 2 (VEGF Receptor 2, VEGFR2, VEGFR-2, VEGFR, CD309, Fetal Liver Kinase 1, FLK1, FLK-1, Kinase Insert Domain Receptor, KDR, Protein-tyrosine Kinase Receptor flk-1)

VEGFR2 is a receptor for vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). VEGF is a potent and unique angiogenic protein that induces endothelial cell (EC) proliferation, EC migration, and vascular permeability, and acts as a crucial survival factor for endothelial cells. In adult cells, the mitogenic and chemotactic effects of VEGF appear mainly to be mediated by VEGFR-2. The activation of VEGFR-2 induces dimerization and transphosphorylation of the receptors, followed by tyrosine phosphorylation and activation of several downstream substrates. It localizes in the 4q11-q12 region of chromosome. VEGFR2 has been reported in Human bone marrow, heart, hematopoietic stem cell, mammary gland, placenta and testis.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nImmunohistochemistry (paraffin): 2.5ug/ml\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control:\nBreast carcinoma\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
