XIAP is an endogenous inhibitor of cell death, which functions by suppressing caspases 3, 7, and 9. The protein is also reported to play a a role in the activation of NF kappa B and the regulation of cyclins and cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors (CDKIs). Regulators of XIAP activity include XAF-1 and Smac.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot. and Immunohistochemistry (Frozen and paraffin). Other applications not tested. \n\nRecommended Dilution: \nWestern Blot: 0.5-2.0ug/ml\nImmunohistochemistry (paraffin): 2ug/ml, Requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections.\nOptimal dilution determined by the researcher. \n\nRecommended Secondary Reagents: \nSheep anti rabbit IgG: HRP\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
