YBX2 (Y-box-binding Protein 2, Contrin, CSDA3, DNA-binding Protein C, Dbpc, Germ Cell-specific Y-box-binding Protein, MSY2, MSY2 Homolog)

Germ cell specific Y-box binding protein (YBX2), a germ-cell-specific member of the Y-box family of DNA-/RNA-binding proteins, is a major constituent of messenger ribonucleoprotein particles (mRNPs) and involved in the regulation of the stability and/or translation of germ cell mRNAs. It is proposed to function as a coactivator of transcription in the nucleus and to stabilize and store maternal and paternal mRNAs in the cytoplasm. YBX2 binds to the Y-box consensus promoter element and is expressed in oocytes and testicular germ cells in the stage of spermatogonia to spermatocyte. Recent studies show that deletion of YBX2 leads to the disruption of both spermatogenesis and oogenesis.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1-2ug/ml\nImmunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 10ug/ml\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control:\nHuman Testis Tissue Lysate\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
