AGRP is the endogenous antagonist of alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone and has been shown to cause potent stimulation of food intake, and this protein is found in over 90% of Neuropeptide Y containing cells in rats. Applications Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (Frozen): 1:1000- :2000 Optimal dilution determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Sheep brain (hypothalamus). No staining is evident when the primary antibody is pre-absorbed with 0.5 mg/ml of AGRP. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C for short-term only. Reconstitute with sterile 40-50% glycerol, PBS. Aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
