A large body of evidence has implicated the amyloid precursor protein (APP) in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD) (Kamenetz et al., 2003). The phosphorylation APP at Thr668 is thought to play a critical role in generation of the soluble APP (beta) and beta-amyloid peptide (abeta) which are the major components of senile plaques in patient brains inflicted with AD (Liu et al., 2003; Ando et al., 2001). Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Rat brain and hippocampus lysate Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
