A fungal metabolite, asterric acid is isolated from a number of Aspergillus and Penicillium species. It is an inhibitor of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). Asterric acid is an angiogenesis inhibitor acting on VEGF-induced tube formation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells. Purity: >99% by HPLC Solubility: Soluble in ethanol, methanol, DMF or DMSO.
