CDw119 is a 90-100kD type I transmembrane protein, also known as IFN-y R a chain or IFN-yRI. The IFN-y receptor is a complex of a high affinity IFN-y-binding chain (aka, IFN-y R a chain) and a second accessory protein required for signal transduction known as IFN-y R B chain. The IFN-y R a chain is a member of the class II cytokine receptor family. Binding of IFN-y induces receptor dimerization and internalization. Signal transduction involves Jak1 and Jak2 protein kinases and involves STAT1 activation. The IFN-y receptor is expressed at moderate levels on virtually every cell with the exception of erythrocytes.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry, Western Blot and ELISA. Not suitable for use with paraffin. Other applications have not been tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions:\nFlow Cytometry: 1-10ug/ml; Use 1ug to label 10e6 cells in 100ul\nImmunohistochemistry (Frozen): 1-10ug/ml. Not suitable for use with paraffin.\nWestern Blot: 1ug/ml\nELISA: 1ug/ml\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nHybridoma:\nSp2/0-Ag14 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. \n\nRecommended Negative Control: \nI1904-83P1: IgG2a Negative Control\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Recognizes human CD119. In Western Blot only one protein band is stained corresponding to a MW of 43kD, which is equal to the MW for the glycosylated extracellular part of the human extracellular IFNgR (fused to c-myc) and a MW of 27kD corresponding to the non-glycosylated part (fused to c-myc). Does not neutralize biological activity of interferon gamma.
