CD11a is a 170-180kD type I transmembrane glycoprotein also known as LFA-1a chain and integrin aL subunit. CD11a non-covalently associates with integrin B2 (CD18) to form LFA-1. It is expressed on all leukocytes, including B and T lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages, neutrophils, basophils and eosinophils. It is absent on non-hematopoietic tissues and platelets. CD11a plays a central role in leukocyte cell-cell interactions and is important in lymphocyte costimulation. CD11a/CD18 binds to ICAM-1 (CD54), ICAM-2 (CD102), and ICAM-3 (CD50). Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, Blocking of Cell-cell Interaction and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: (same/less than)0.5ug/10e6 cells in 100ul Immunohistochemistry: acetone-fixed, frozen Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
