CD11a (Leukocyte Function Associated Antigen, LFA-1, Integrin aL) (PE/Cy5)

Leukocytes express four CD11/CD18 integrins which comprise a common b2 subunit and distinctive a chains. The other three integrins are known as CD11b/CD18, CD11c/CD18 and CD11d/CD18. LFA-1 is present on all leukocytes and is responsible chiefly for adhesion between leukocytes during immue response and also functions in transmigration of leukocytes across endothelium. The ligands for CD11a/CD18 are intercellular adhesion molecules CD54 (ICAM-1), CD102 (ICAM-2) and CD50 (ICAM-3). Patients who have mutated CD18 genes do not express cell membrane LFA-1 (or the other b2 integrins), a condition known as leukocyte adhesion deficiency 1 (LAD-1).\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in flow cytometric analysis using 100ul peripheral blood cells or 10ul/10e6 cells.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Store at -20 degrees C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
