CD11b associates with CD18 to form the heterodimeric complex known as Mac-1. This complex serves as a receptor for the iC3b component. Mac-1 also serves as an adhesion molecule for intracellular adhesion molecule-1, also known as CD54. Mac-1 is expressed on cells of the mycloid lineage as well as natural killer cells.
