Applications: Suitable for use in Flow cytometry, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry: frozen tissue sections and paraffin embedded tissue sections following periodate-lysine-paraformaldehyde fixation. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Hybridization of NOS myeloma cell line. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Additional info: Recognizes most macrophages (including resident peritoneal and activated macrophages), kupffer cells, but only about 35% of alvoelar macrophages. The antibody also labels dendritic cells extensively, granulocytes and cells with the morphology of microglia in brain. The antibody precipitates three polypeptides of 150, 103 and 95kDa. The antibody inhibits complement mediated rosettes and is probably the rat equivalent of the human receptor for IC3b called CR3.
