CD11c antigen is expressed mainly on monocytes and in low density on granulocytes and NK cells. High levels of CD11c are expressed on tissue macrophages. It is also found on lymphoid cell lines including hairy cell leukemia. CD11c (integrin aX subunit) combines with CD18 (integrin b2 subunit) to form the integrin protein 150,95 (aXb2, CD11c/CD18). CD11c/CD18 has been reported to play an important role in cytotoxic T cell killing, and in neutrophil and monocyte adhesion to endothelium. Although its ligands in these two cases have not been identified. CD11c/CD18 is not expressed on leukocytes of patients with leukocyte adhesion deficiency. leukocyte adhesion deficiency results from defects in the CD18 gene, leading to diminished expression of all CD18-containing integrins. CD11c antibodies bind multiple ligands including the complement fragment iC3b, CD54 (ICAM-1), fibrinogen and bacterial lippolysaccharide. \n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry, Immunofluorescence and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nFlow Cytometry: 1:25-1:100; 10ul labels 10e6 cells in 100ul\nImmunohistochemistry: frozen sections\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
